Actually that artwork is a mashup of mine and hump-day's... You took it from Discworld Monthly where it was published in this format by me .... I have the original on my PC ... Try crediting things properly as I am getting sick of you stealing items from Discworld Monthly without giving the proper credit in any form or even asking permission in the first place...
!!!???!!! I send out links as they are sent to me by various people. Credit is given when I can track down the original. As I would never join Facebook I had no idea this came from DWM if indeed it even did, and I can't give 'you' credit as you are an anonymous commenter. Wossname has been around since the early 1990s - started as a postal newsletter from what were then a fairly small cadre of Pratchett fans. I am astonished and saddened that any Pratchett fan who made tribute art to Pratchett would be offended by Wossname attempting to show it to other Pratchett fans, but it would seem that the world contains some fans who are less willing to share. I also find myself wondering when sharing links to Discworld-related items with fans became 'stealing'. The world is a colder place for it in my opinion.
Happy Year of the Sneezing Panda to you, random anonymous stranger.
In last month's issue, item 9 ("Fanac") was devoted to a string of Discworld-centric limericks sent in by one of our Newshounds. As no source was given apart from "found this on Facebook", I did a number of searches (as I normally do) but found nothing to indicate where the limericks thread came from; but as it was obviously fan-made and definitely fun, I decided to include it in the issue. Then, not long after the month's issue went out, I received an email from Jason Anthony of Discworld Monthly newsletter, explaining that the limericks came from a thread on the Discworld Monthly Facebook group, which is a private group. Jason and I have since discussed this and all's sorted. But as offence was taken, Wossname hereby apologises to the Discworld Monthly Facebook group for the uncredited sharing of a thread posted in that group.
The very purpose of Wossname, since its beginning back in the 1990s, has been to make fans aware of both direct news of the life and work of Terry Pratchett and various international activities of Pratchett fans, including links to fan art and reposting of forum threads and assorted fan poetry and essays; and that will continue to be our policy and raison d'etre. But to anyone – staff or civilian – who wants to send in any fan-based items from less than public sources in future, do let us know the origins...
In order to be 'stealing from Discworld Monthly AGAIN!', I'd have to have been in possession of a TARDIS. Or a Delorean. I'm quite certain I've never had either of those :-)
