According to the late Joe Schaumburger, who dragged me into Wossname in the first place (while he was still alive, obvs), Wossname existed in the '90s before its first online newsgroup version, as a physical newsletter sent out by him by post :-) But as mentioned, I wasn't around then so can't confirm, especially as I lack Mrs Cake's medium talents!
